AMA Short Track Debut at Tri-City Motor Speedway

07/20/2013 (Auburn MI)   Bay Cycle of Bay City partnered with the Tri-City Motor Speedway on what turned out to be a beautiful night. After Mother Nature provided extra moisture throughout the afternoon, the clay of Auburn was prepped to a smooth, tacky and fast race track.  With 89 competitors (including the Combo class) ready to race, it was a great setting for the test of speed and endurance. Not to mention the spectator attendance far exceeded the expectations of promoter Steve Puvalowski. The weather delay provided Bay Cycle with a great opportunity to showcase some of the new toys they brought out to display and keep the crowd entertained with many give-a-ways throughout the night.

As the racing began the riders were in the Pro atmosphere as they could see their number on the scoreboard along with the leaders lap times. Many riders were pleased to use the high tech transponder system the track uses on a weekly basis. The system also provided the crowd with the back to back racing action with the lightning fast computations from race to race. As many regular car racing fans were curious to see what the bikes and ATV’s would do on the clay, they were in awe by the speed, competitiveness and side by side action. After the races the riders were brought to the Bay Cycle awards ceremony and crowned with their trophies.

Tri-City Motor Speedway would like to thank all the riders and fans for the great support on the first of many to come Short Track races. We would also like to thank all of the volunteers and Bay Cycle for helping put on a great show. Remember to go to to view/buy your favorite photos. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the future.
