Past updates

We are in the process of fixing the drainage system on the property. There are some tiles that need repair and we will be installing some new drains.
Also in the meantime, the old concession will take on a new look as it becomes the new office.

We are working setting the classes and rules that will be run for the 2011 season. You should expect something posted this spring.

A couple things that are currently going on:
Consumers Power is fixing the underground feed transformer to have power on the East half of the track.
The engineer is working on the drawings of the site plan.
The project is moving along quite well. The only holdup at the moment is the cold weather and frost that make it difficult to do outdoor work.

Finally I have good news to post. As of Monday January 11, the purchase of that track is complete. It was a lot of work in the past months to get things finished. I appreciate everybody's patience and helpful input. With it being winter outside I won't be able to make a lot of progress, but I will be ready as soon as the weather turns. I plan on going to the RPM Workshops to learn as much as possible on building and promoting a racetrack.
Thank You,
Steve Puvalowski

I am still waiting for a signature from Frank"s wife to get a clear title for the track . Since I can't do much physical work, I am doing some behind the scene things. I went to the MSPA fall meeting on October 17th at the Michigan International Speedway and met with other track owner/ promoters.
This past Sunday November 8th, I was at the MARFC meeting in Birch Run. There I revealed some of my plans for the track. I am planning on redoing the layout of where the dirt track and grandstands are. The dirt track should be 3/8 mile with the grandstands on the west side of the track. I don't plan on destroying the historic trick track. There could be plans for it in the future.
I don't think it should be too much longer to get the paperwork finished up for the track. I will post as soon as something happens. Thank you.

Progress is being made in finalizing the closing and getting a clear title to the track. On August 20th, Chris Kamlay signed off on the construction lien. We had a closing meeting at the title agency Friday the 28th. Frank and I signed all of the papers needed to finish things up. We have to wait for Frank's wife to sign off on the deed and everything will be complete.
In the meantime, I have access to the track to be able to start cleaning up. Now I will be able to get a good idea of all the things that need to be done. Once I get going, I will let the people who were willing to help know and see if they are still interested.
Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately there has been no progress in getting the construction lien cleared up. I am still waiting to get a clear title before I will be able to work on getting the track reopened. Thank you for your patience.

Frank's lawyer has not taken care of the construction lien, so I am still waiting and unable to close on the property. I do have many things lined up and ready to go as soon as the papers are signed.
Someone did break open a gate and throw rocks at the windows on the tower. I repaired the broken gate along with reinforcing all the gates and doors.
I do have some new pictures for you to see what the track currently looks like.

I am waiting to be able to close on the track. Today was the original closing day. It can not be closed on until the construction lien filed by Chris Kamlay is viewed by a judge (you can view the lien on the picture page). He filed the lien one day before the auction and I found out about it after the purchase agreement was signed. The lawyer for Frank Bateson has not filed any papers to get the process started.
I am not able to do any work on the track until all of the paperwork is taken care of. I am doing as much as I can, but it is tough when I am limited in what I can do.
Thank you for being patient. I will keep you updated.
